The Phi Alpha Sigma sorority is known to be the first and only academic sorority established back in 1960 in the University of The East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center Inc., College of Medicine.
One of the major projects that is held every start of the academic year is the Anatomy Practical Exams Review. In partnership with the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, and the upperclassmen, the brods and sisses teach the freshmen students on how to overcome their first ever Anatomy Practical Exams!
The exam is comprised of the gross laboratory and histology.
In the gross laboratory, the students are to identify pointed structures on the cadavers, models, chest xray, etc.
It may sound simple, but as a first year medical student, it is more nerve-racking than you think! This tutorial is very helpful especially to those who graduated from non pre-med courses that don't have a moving practical exam.
In the histology part, studens are to identify the given specimen on the microscope. During the tutorials, the brods and sisses give different tips and hacks on how to lose the nervousness during actual exam and think fast!
